MotoGP Expands UK Summer Radio Coverage Through talkSPORT

MotoGP will reach UK audiences through six live summer race broadcasts on talkSPORT2, with TNT Sports commentary covering major events from Mugello through Silverstone across radio, digital and social platforms.

MotoGP will expand how UK audiences follow its summer calendar through a new broadcast arrangement with talkSPORT. The agreement covers six live races scheduled between May and August 2026, with coverage airing on talkSPORT2. The summer schedule opens with the Italian Grand Prix at Mugello on May 31 and ends at Silverstone for the British Grand Prix on August 9. Races from several European circuits will be included during the run.

🔑 Key Highlights

  • Six MotoGP races air live during summer 2026
  • Coverage starts May 31 at Mugello in Italy
  • TNT Sports supplies race commentary for broadcasts
  • British Grand Prix airs August 9 at Silverstone
  • YouTube and TikTok add live commentary access

TNT Sports will provide live race commentary for every event covered under the arrangement. As MotoGP’s exclusive live broadcast partner in the UK, TNT Sports will bring its commentary team to listeners through talkSPORT coverage. The lineup includes Suzi Perry, Gav Emmett, Neil Hodgson, Michael Laverty and Sylvain Guintoli, who will guide audiences through each race weekend as the season moves across Europe.

The race calendar included in the agreement features stops in Italy, Hungary, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Germany and the United Kingdom. Following Mugello, broadcasts continue at Balaton Park for the Hungarian Grand Prix and Brno for the Czech Republic Grand Prix. The Dutch TT at Assen and the German Grand Prix at Sachsenring follow before coverage concludes at Silverstone.

MotoGP described the arrangement as another route for audiences to follow race action while identifying the UK as an important market during a period of growth. talkSPORT positioned the broadcasts within a wider summer sports lineup that includes football and golf coverage. TNT Sports said the collaboration extends an existing relationship with both MotoGP and talkSPORT through shared race commentary.

Listeners will be able to follow coverage through DAB digital radio, AM radio frequencies, the talkSPORT website and app, and smart speaker services. Live streams will also remain available through YouTube and television platforms. For the first time, race commentary will additionally be available on YouTube and TikTok, expanding access during the summer season.

📊 What This Means (Our Analysis)

This arrangement gives MotoGP broader reach by widening the number of places where audiences can follow races during a concentrated summer schedule. Coverage stretches across traditional radio, digital streaming, television-linked platforms and social channels, helping the sport become easier to follow without changing the race presentation itself.

The partnership also creates a stronger connection between existing broadcasters and new listening habits. By carrying TNT Sports commentary into talkSPORT’s network and social platforms, MotoGP increases opportunities for both returning followers and first-time listeners to stay connected with the championship throughout the season.

📌 Our Take: MotoGP’s broader summer presence points toward a sports audience increasingly reached through many platforms at once.
